While there are many grand plans for large-scale cloud computing systems, what about those of us who need to start small? What are the features of Azure that we need to consider at the outset so that scaling up later is easier? Find out this month at QMSDNUG.
Steven Nagy, Readify:
An Evening In The Cloud
The rise of cloud computing is the largest technology shift of the digital era, and organisations
world-wide are jumping on the bandwagon to leverage scales of economy in capital expenditure,
computing performance, and high availability. The Microsoft Windows Azure Platform, officially
launched in Australia in April, offers organisations such scale while allowing them to harness their
existing expertise in the .Net platform.
In these 2 sessions, dubbed "An evening in the cloud", Steven Nagy will first revisit the Windows
Azure Platform from the ground up, along with all the old and new features that complete the
platform. He'll then explore concepts around building highly scalable applications on the Windows
Azure Platform, redelivering the same session given at Remix earlier this year, customised just for
QMSDNUG.
Of course there will be lots of Azure coloured give-aways to all the best questions of the night.
And you are more than welcome join us as we carry on with the Azure Q&A down at the local drinking hole.
About The Presenter: Steven Nagy
By day Steven is a .Net consultant for Readify specialising in C#, WPF, Windows Azure Platform, and code quality.
By night he cackles gleefully basking in the glow of his laptop screen as thousands of Azure worker roles carry out his evil bidding.
